Frequently Asked Questions

At Desert Bankruptcy Law, we know that learning about bankruptcy can be a confusing and frustrating process. That’s why we provide answers to the most commonly asked questions.

What type of bankruptcy does Desert Bankruptcy Law practice?

We help individuals file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, and businesses file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. We also help you analyze alternatives to a bankruptcy.

How do I know if bankruptcy is right for me?

One of our experienced attorneys will meet with you in a ZOOM appointment to help determine your current financial and credit situation with the goal of determining what solutions will work for you, as part of our commitment to excellence. Sometimes, bankruptcy is just not the right answer for you, but we can offer guidance on alternatives.

What will I lose if I file bankruptcy?

In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy you might lose some property such as non exempt assets but most of our clients are able to keep almost all of their property. A Chapter 13 allows you to keep property even if it has nonexempt equity because you pay the value of the non exempt equity into the plan over 3 to 5 years.

Can Desert Bankruptcy Law help me rebuild credit?

Of course. Along with legal representation, we equip the clients with the educational information and strategies needed to effectively rebuild their credit after bankruptcy.

What will Desert Bankruptcy Law charge for services?

Fees depend on the complexity of your case and the services needed. We charge a flat fee for most things and client satisfaction is very important to us so fees charged are evident but we always explain these charges.

How do I get started?
